This coffee is produced by a group of Tanzanian military farms. Military service was introduced in the country in 1963 immediately after independence. 
The goal is to provide young Tanzanians with knowledge, skills and cultural values that allow them to contribute to the socio-economic development as well as the defense and security of the nation.
This program was launched in 1968 to train army graduates in agricultural skills specifically in coffee cultivation, as a fundamental part of their courses.
